The vendor is required to provide insurance coverage equal to or better than the existing coverage, as well as related loss prevention, control, and educational services from financially secure carriers with options for limits and deductibles appropriate to the size of the county and relative to its current insurance program.
- The county has the following expectations from its provider of insurance services:
• Provision of a comprehensive insurance program to include general liability (including coverage through extension and endorsements for errors and omissions, environmental, employers’ liability, wrongful dismissal, conflict of interest, legal expense reimbursement, incidental medical malpractice, non-owned auto, etc.), umbrella liability, crime, automobile, property, boiler and machinery, cyber liability, as well as low risk event liability, and accident policies.
• Further details of the county’s current policies, deductibles, and coverages can be found in the which will be provided to proponents upon receipt of a signed NDA;
• All coverages and claims management for claims exceeding deductible; as well as guidance on claims with the potential to reach deductible levels;
• Assistance in resolving claims-related issues with the insurer(s) or other insurance intermediaries who provide insurance services to the county;
• Accurate and timely production of all relevant insurance documentation such as but not limited to policies, premium invoices, insurance slips, claims reporting procedures, and other relationship protocols for the initial term and each annual renewal;
• Accurate and timely updating of the property policy to allow for additions and deletions of assets as necessary throughout the policy period;
• Formal property (including boiler and machinery) inspections with accompanying reports;
• Preparation and delivery, at least 120 days prior to renewal, a report on:
o Developments within global insurance and re-insurance markets relevant to the county’s position;
o Suggested alternatives to the present insurance program to maximize coverage and reduce costs;
o Detailed and regularly provided schedules, statistics, and other information as required for reported claims to allow the county sufficient insight into insurer reserves and claim handling decisions.
• Provision of premium breakdown by department and asset;
• Support services for emergency or catastrophic events;
• Advice and guidance related to day-to-day concerns of clarification of coverage;
• Advice and guidance related to contractual issues primarily as related to issues of risk transfer;
• Provision of training and education sessions for both administrative and operational staff;
• Provision of loss run reports annually and as requested;
• regularly scheduled “checkpoint” meetings to discuss the county’s insurance program in general and developing industry and market issues; including facilitation of checkpoints as required with all pertinent insurers.
• Prompt issuances of certificates of insurance as requested.
