The Vendor is required to provide insurance receivership counsel services to satisfy a need for legal services during the term of the contract.
• Legal services and perform all tasks necessary to successfully represent the statutory liquidator in the R&Q reinsurance company receivership, including but not limited to: collection and protection of estate assets; representation in matters relating to resolution of claims against the estate, including: asbestos, pollution and other environmental claim issues; as well as health hazard issues such as lead, silica, and benzene issues; representation in reinsurance matters, including commutations, collections and arbitrations; representation in court;; representation in litigation against third parties, including professional service providers; representation in general liquidation matters including all tasks necessary to effectuate closure of the estate.
• The engagement may include other general work as designated by the chief counsel of the insurance department, the governor’s office of general counsel.
