The Vendor is required to provide for a comprehensive IT assessment.
- This includes a wide array of enterprise systems, research computing resources, academic technologies, cybersecurity operations, and cloud and infrastructure management.
- Represents an opportunity to engage with university boulder at a pivotal time, as the University continues to evolve its IT ecosystem to support increased student success, cutting-edge research, digital accessibility, and operational excellence.
- The engagement will address five (5) strategic domains: foundational IT infrastructure, institutional research, cybersecurity and risk, research computing, and innovation and AI readiness.
- Review relevant documentation (organizational charts, governance policies, strategic plans, audits, etc.).
- Interview key stakeholders (e.g., VC or OIT/CIO, distributed IT leaders, executive leaders, deans, faculty, staff, and students).
- Map current structures, roles, responsibilities, and other models as necessary
- In consideration of improved security, service, accuracy and efficiency, assess:
• Decision-making and governance effectiveness
• Cybersecurity posture
• Infrastructure and system redundancy
• Resource allocation and staffing
• Change management and innovation agility
- Provide a final report with:
• A summary of findings
• Risk analysis
• Benchmark comparisons
• Short- and long-term recommendations
• Roadmap for transformation
• Readout discussion with leadership on key findings and recommendations
- The primary objectives of this engagement are to:
• Conduct a high-level review of the University’s current federated IT model.
• Evaluate how well the current model supports University-wide goals, including teaching, research and administrative needs.
• Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of this structure.
• Identify risks and opportunities related to cybersecurity, compliance, and redundancy, organizational and cost inefficiencies.
• Provide comprehensive recommendations for modernizing institutional research functions and data integration/architecture.
• Benchmark our model against peer institutions and industry best practices – aligned to future industry needs.
• Provide recommendations for improvement, including potential structural, governance, and/or policy considerations.
