The Vendor is required to provide high quality, cost-effective and reliable emergency medical services for trust.
- Provide emergency medical services to the trust on the island, including an ALS (advanced life support) ambulance and appropriate emergency medical staff - basic (EMT-b) and paramedic (E MT-p) staff, to support the safety and health of island users (i) during the times when the island is open to the public or other island users (the “island open hours”) and (ii) during special events on an as-needed basis.
- Emergency medical service staff must be available at the emergency medical services offices for walk-in visits during all Island open hours.
- Emergency medical services must patrol the island, following routes determined by the trust, for the duration of their shifts and always be accessible by radio and/or phone.
- Contractor must provide accurate incident reports of all aided cases to the trust at the end of each day, in a form reasonably acceptable to the trust and in compliance with act regulations.
- Contractor must adhere to legal requirements, including the regulations of the department and any other regulatory agency as applicable.
- Contractor must adhere to all trust rules and regulations, as may be amended from time to time.
- Contractor must coordinate accordingly with the trust and its representatives, department and any other emergency personnel in the provision of emergency services.
- Contractor must provide service to all those presenting in need of services regardless of race, color, national origin, age, disability, religion, sex (including gender identity or expression), or sexual orientation.
- Contractor must conduct the provision of services with the highest standards of customer service.
- At the trust’s request, all emergency medical service staff may be required to attend customer service training.
- Provide the trust with proof of all necessary certifications and a comprehensive safety plan prior to commencing any services.
- Contractor must ensure that all equipment and vehicles used in providing the services are in working order, and that all routine tests, inspections, and checks will be performed as necessary.
- Staffing Requirements - As-Needed emergency medical services:
• Provide additional services as required for extended hours and private and special events; dates and times for such events will be determined by the trust in its sole discretion; these services will be on an as-needed and on-call basis.
