The vendor required to provide inmate medical services for include:
1. Portable sleep apnea diagnostic services
• Ship wearable diagnostic kits to department facilities within two (2) business days of request.
• Portable monitoring sleep apnea test devices must be compact, tamper-resistant, user-friendly, and suitable for the correctional environments.
• Provide clear instructions and training for department staff administering sleep tests.
• Ensure return shipping logistics are pre-paid and secure.
2. Diagnostic review and reporting
• Initial scoring.
• Review by a registered polysomnographic technologist (“RPSGT”).
• Final interpretation and treatment recommendation by a pulmonologist or a board-certified sleep physician.
• Provide diagnostic reports within two (2) business days of receipt of returned portable monitoring sleep apnea test device.
3. Clinical and technical support
• Provide 24/7 clinical and technical support for department staff.
• Offer telehealth support from respiratory therapists and sleep specialists.
4. Training
• Provide training for department medical staff on portable monitoring sleep apnea device setup, monitoring, and inmate education.
• Provide inmate education materials tailored for correctional settings to improve compliance.
5. Data, reporting and compliance
• Provide monthly usage and compliance reports to include:
o Number of inmates tested
o Number tested resulting in a recommended supportive device
o Testing turnaround times
o Compliance rates with prescribed treatment
o Incident and misuse reporting
• Ensure compliance with HIPPA and department security requirements.
