The Vendor is required to provide medical direction services for the department.
- Possesses adequate personnel, availability, and resources to provide effective and continuous Medical Director Services, including medical control and system oversight.
- Maintains a satisfactory record of performance on contracts of similar size, scope, and complexity for municipal or governmental EMS systems.
- Provide documentation of services performed, including meeting attendance, protocol review activity, QA/QI participation, training support, case review activity, recommendations, and other deliverables requested by the City. Documentation shall be provided in a format acceptable to the City.
- Approve protocols, standing orders, and medications used by EMS personnel
- Review reports, patient care records, and response data for compliance and performance.
- Conduct case reviews and recommend system improvements.
- Approve and assist in developing initial and continuing EMS education curricula
- Assist the EMS Assistant Chief in setting up and evaluating a continuous quality improvement program in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee clinical competencies and skills verification.
- Serve as a subject matter expert during training simulations and drills.
- Provide additional medical advisory support to EMS-related and interagency programs as needed.
