Durable Medical Equipment Services

The Vendor is required to provide durable medical equipment services to biomedical preventive maintenance, calibration, testing and as -needed parts and repair services for durable medical equipment that includes ventilators, EKGs, and patient monitors.
- Requirement:
•    Preventive maintenance shall be performed at intervals specified by the manufacturer of FDA approved medical equipment and, at minimum, must include a technical inspection and functional test annually. 
•    Preventive maintenance shall include replacing damaged or expired consumable components, such as filters, hoses, and connectors. 
•    Preventive maintenance services will be scheduled with the designated department contract manager or program lead. 
•    Provide as-needed services dependent on the equipment and manufacturer’s recommendation, and the awarded contractor shall track these requirements. 
•    Any changes to these requirements should be reported to department within 30 days of change in manufacturer’s guidance. 
•    Complete as-needed repairs within four 
•    Weeks of receiving request for service from department to be performed either on-site or at the contractor’s facility. 
•    Keep an adequate stock of commonly replaced parts and provide loaner equipment while current equipment is being repaired if needed. 
•    If loaner equipment is required, department will pay the daily rental rate (price sheet). 
•    Rental will begin on the installation date and end when removed by contractor. 
•    Charge for pickup or delivery services located within the area. 
•    Austin area shall be defined per the capitol impact government gateway city zip code list. 
•    Elect to perform maintenance at a location outside the area, department shall not be responsible for any associated transportation costs. 
•    Notify department in writing of any revisions or updates to manufacturer-issued maintenance guidelines or service recommendations. 
•    Implement changes to the maintenance scope, intervals, or procedures without written approval from d department.
