The Vendor is required to provide to enhance resiliency at beach by restoring and stabilizing the dunes through nature-based solutions.
- Professional consulting firms or individuals to complete a comprehensive engineering study for alternatives to addressing the increasing impacts from severe weather events and sea level rise at beach.
- This study will consider the historical data and scientific future projections and information, addressing the existing conditions of the location, including but not limited to coastal delineation and surveys which are needed for the Town to make an informed decision about how to proceed with mitigating this vulnerable area that has been identified as an action item in the Town’s 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan.
- Given the dynamic nature of sea level rise and climate change, this engineering study does not seek to solve resiliency challenges beyond the near- and mid-term nor does it assume that a nature based solution will prevent or address catastrophic storm damage. The Town seeks solutions that help to reduce damage from regular and occasional storm surge and make the road passable.
- The concept study will consider historical data and scientific future projections and information, addressing the existing conditions of the location.
- Other related information or any other type of data that may be required shall be independently gathered by the Consultant.
- The report shall include planning level cost estimates (high, medium, and low), and various sea level rise scenarios for all alternatives. This report will serve as a tool to guide capital planning and fund seeking for the recommended future improvements.
