The vendor is required to provide to supply comprehensive athletic training services, including staffing, scheduling, event coverage, medical oversight, and athletic program management.
- Requirement:
• Recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, professionally develop, and evaluate all ATs assigned to the district schools.
• Ensure all ATs hold appropriate state licensure and certifications.
• Maintain adequate staffing levels to meet the needs of athletic programs
• Partner with the department of health services to standardize and streamline health-related operations, standardized workflow, policies and procedures, and business operations.
• Collaborate with the department in training and development opportunities to promote combined health-related response, continuity of care, and support of students in the district.
- Scheduling and event coverage
• Creating and maintaining athletic trainer (AT) schedules for practices, games, tournaments, and special events to ensure comprehensive coverage for designated schools.
• Ensuring coverage meets association standards and district expectations.
• Providing substitute or backup coverage when assigned staff are unavailable.
• Coordinating with interscholastic coaches and school administrators.
- Critical on-site services
• Injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
• Concussion management support aligned with state law and district policy.
• Emergency response and first aid during athletic events, regardless if home or visiting team.
• Communication with parents and guardians regarding injuries and care plans.
• Documentation of all injuries, treatments, and referrals using a HIPAA and FERPA compliant system.
• Communication with the department of health services to ensure continuity of care for students when not engaged in sporting activities.
- Medical oversight
• A designated medical director to oversee clinical protocols, standing orders, and quality assurance.
• Annual review of emergency action plans (EAPS) for athletic venues as requested by the district.
• Clinical supervision and consultation for ATs.
• Compliance with state laws, association requirements, and district policies.
- Program administration
• Maintain all employee records, certifications, and background checks.
• ATs must have a valid department fingerprint clearance card with IVP designation and evidence of MMR vaccination or immunity as per district policies.
• Ensure compliance with district safety, conduct, and reporting expectations.
• Provide quarterly reports to the district director of health services to include staffing levels, attrition, recruitment efforts, and any issues with the provision of services under the agreement. • participate in annual program evaluation and improvement planning.
• All hiring, recruitment, supervision, and discipline of AT staff.
• Payroll, benefits, workers' compensation, and liability coverage for their employees.
• Ensuring staff adhere to district policies, including safety, conduct, confidentiality, and mandatory reporting.
• Allows the consideration of "current" district AT positions continued employment with the district based on their career plan to have shared operational oversight under the contractor.
