The Vendor is required to provide electrical consultant services for include:
1. Consultation and assessment services
• Providing expert guidance on existing electrical infrastructure, including distribution systems, lighting, emergency power systems, switchgear, transformers, panels, conduit systems, and related components.
• Conducting systematic assessments of electrical systems at specific campuses or facilities as directed by the district.
• Evaluating electrical systems for safety integrity, operational reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with current codes.
• Identifying deficiencies, aging components, or systems at risk of failure and presenting findings with recommended corrective actions.
• Advising district personnel on prioritization of electrical upgrades or repairs based on risk, urgency, and available budget.
• Responding to urgent consultation requests in the event of electrical failures, safety incidents, or emergency conditions at district facilities.
2. Electrical design services
• Developing complete electrical designs for new campus construction or major renovation projects, including power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm interfaces, emergency systems, grounding, and telecommunications pathways as applicable.
• Preparing electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and specifications in accordance with district standards and applicable codes.
• Reviewing and coordinating electrical designs prepared by other parties, including general contractors, subcontractors, or other design professionals engaged by the district.
• Performing load calculations to verify capacity of existing systems or to size new systems appropriately for anticipated demand.
• Designing systems that comply with energy efficiency goals and relevant sustainability standards applicable to public school facilities in state.
• Coordinating with mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines to ensure compatibility and constructability of electrical designs.
• Issuing addenda, responding to requests for information during bidding, and providing clarifications as needed.
• Reviewing shop drawings and submittals from contractors to confirm conformance with design intent and specifications.
3. Project management support
• Participating in pre-construction meetings, design coordination sessions, and regular project progress meetings at the request of the district.
• Providing technical input and recommendations during value engineering exercises or constructability reviews.
• Monitoring the progress of electrical work during construction to confirm alignment with approved designs and specifications.
• Assisting district staff in tracking project timelines and budgets related to electrical scope items.
• Communicating proactively with all relevant stakeholders regarding any issues, conflicts, or changes that may affect electrical systems.
• Supporting the district in evaluating change order requests from contractors involving electrical scope, including verifying technical justification and reasonableness of proposed costs.
• Conducting or participating in substantial completion and final inspections, preparing punch lists related to electrical work, and confirming resolution of all outstanding items prior to project closeout.
4. Documentation and reporting
• Preparing written assessment reports for each facility evaluation, including descriptions of existing conditions, identified deficiencies, photographic documentation where applicable, and prioritized recommendations.
• Submitting project status reports at intervals defined by individual task orders, including summaries of work completed, pending items, schedule status, and any issues requiring district attention.
• Maintaining and delivering complete record drawings and as-built documentation upon project completion for district archiving.
• Providing written summaries of all code compliance inspections, including findings, applicable code references, corrective action items, and recommended timelines.
• Documenting all consultant communications, meeting minutes from project meetings attended, and decisions made that affect electrical scope or design.
• Submitting final project closeout reports that consolidate all documentation, test reports, inspection records, and warranty information related to electrical systems.
