- Research Administration and Operational Support, including:
a) Providing operational and staffing support, including temporary staffing services, for research administration and sponsored programs.
b) Assessing research administration business processes and internal controls.
c) Conducting operational efficiency reviews, organizational assessments, and benchmarking studies.
d) Providing project-specific research administration expertise and other related operational support as mutually agreed.
- Research Finance and Cost Analysis, including:
a) Assisting with research finance and financial management.
b) Supporting facilities and administrative (F&A) rate development, analysis, planning, documentation, review, proposal preparation, and negotiation, including assisting University personnel with the preparation of an F&A proposal and providing technical expertise during federal negotiations.
c) Conducting space surveys associated with or independent of the F&A rate proposal, utility studies, and indirect cost allocation analyses.
d) Developing or evaluating cost allocation methodologies for research recharge activities and supporting service center and recharge center operations and rate development.
e) Providing other related research finance consulting services as mutually agreed.
- Federal Grant Compliance and Research Security, including:
a) Assisting with federal grant administration and compliance.
b) Advising on the interpretation and implementation of Uniform Guidance and other federal regulations, including the implementation of new federal requirements.
c) Supporting the development and management of export control, controlled research, and other research security needs.
d) Assisting with audit readiness, audit responses, and corrective action planning.
e) Advising on changes in federal laws, regulations, agency requirements, executive actions, funding priorities, and compliance expectations affecting the research enterprise.
- Strategic Advisory, Policy, and Training Services, including:
a) Supporting strategic planning and institutional planning initiatives.
b) Developing policies and supporting implementation of regulatory requirements.
c) Analyzing emerging research administration risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate actions.
d) Providing training, workshops, and professional development for research administration personnel.
e) Providing other related consulting services supporting research administration, research finance, sponsored programs, compliance, and strategic research initiatives as mutually agreed.
