The Vendor is required to provide classification and compensation study services for include:
- Classification
• Review of all background materials, including organizational charts related to staffing, the city’s current compensation policies and procedures, as well as existing classification and compensation documents and any other related materials.
• Research and recommend a classification structure.
• This structure will be based on all job descriptions to include additional duties and responsibilities to each individual position (where applicable.)
• The classification structure will include the recommended assignment of each position with the classification structure utilizing a standardized rating system that analyzes each position against multiple evaluation criteria.
• The result may be used to update the current classification structure or the proposal for a new system.
- Compensation
• Review current compensation plan (salary structures and associated grade levels for regular employees and the grade and steps of the sworn personnel pay structures), practices, and related issues.
• Perform a market salary survey of communities in our area that are comparable to the city in size, population, economic climate, proximity to a major city, etc. market survey should include the hours worked per week by employees in the various positions in those comparable communities in an effort to consider both internal and external equity.
