The Vendor is required to provide to obtain contract proposals to provide LAN/WAN cabling installation and repairs for all the board subsidiaries, institutions, and schools on an as needed basis.
- Provide a listing of all school sites and central office addresses.
- Provide a district calendar.
- Provide all materials for copper runs, and fiber cable for fiber runs.
- Provide a copy of book containing all known asbestos site information.
- Provide contractor access to project site after normal hours as needed to complete project.
- Locate all utility lines for contractor.
- Provide a floor plan for each location.
- Provide contractor with a soft copy for each project location.
- Install, maintain, repair, terminate, test, and label category 5, 5e, and 6e cable runs, fiber runs, TV, rg6, and rg11 runs, amplifiers, splitter, and connectors.
- All cables, station jacks, patch panels, switches, and any other equipment required in system shall be thoroughly labeled.
- Station jack labels shall match corresponding patch panel jack labels.
- The labeling scheme shall be coordinated and consistent with existing label scheme at each school site and be approved prior to implementation.
- Labeling must be of a permanent nature and not hand printed.
- The numbering system shall be consecutive, and not related to room number.
- Cable splices are not acceptable at any point in the system.
- All system components must be securely mounted by mechanical means.
- Cable shall be supported by mechanical means and shall not be laid on top of ceiling track, light fixtures, etc.
- Where cable enters EMT conduit stubbed down below dropped ceilings, there shall be an insulated bushing on the EMT conduit to prevent the cable from becoming cut or chaffed.
- Any surface metal raceway (wire mold) shall be carefully reamed to remove all burrs and sharp edges.
- Plastic bushings must be used at all raceway terminations.
- Holes placed in walls through which conduit is run shall be sealed with a pre-approved fire rated sealing compound.
- Holes in wall above dropped ceiling shall be sleeved with conduit and sealed with a pre-approved fire rated sealing compound.
- Perform fault isolation and resolution on systems as needed by detecting, isolating, and correcting problems in, or abnormal operation of the cable plant system.
- Network cable plant fault resolution may include diagnostic testing; error and event log review, and fault verification.
- Installation of new cable will consist of installing pathway via j-hooks, conduit, cable tray, etc., running cable, terminating at workstation and patch panel, testing, and labeling with labeler.
- Install grounding wire to and from racks in accordance with agency standards.
- Review engineering drawings, sketches, and technical manuals to incorporate new runs or repaired runs.
- In certain cases contractor shall be required to provide as-built drawings to update drawings.
- Provide certified written test results of all new cable run and/or repaired runs within 10 days of completing job to the project coordinator.
- Submit all completed jobs documents and invoices within 10 days after job completion.
- Perform all techniques, materials, and accomplishments in accordance with technical standards and specifications and best commercial practices.
- In performance of all work herein, the technician(s) shall comply with all county schools workplace policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all site rules and regulations concerning the use of customer resources including phone, fax, and e-mail.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area during and after service calls.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
