The Vendor is required to provide all materials, equipment, labor, insurance, supervision, tools, supplies, and other expenses necessary to provide and deliver bookstores and related services.
- Provide full-scale bookstore retail services. To demonstrate this capacity, the contractor shall at a minimum provide the following:
• Traditional bookstore model –Provide instructional materials such as textbooks and other required/recommended resources to students for purchase through an on-campus and/or online store.
• Inclusive access model – the contractor shall provide an “inclusive access” model on a course-by-course basis where digital course materials like textbooks are included in a student’s tuition and fees, rather than being a separate purchase.
• Provide students with an opt-out feature for this where it is applied
• Equitable access model – the contractor should be able to provide (following request by the senior vice chancellor for instructional and student services & chief academic officer or their designee) an “equitable access” model for all instructional materials across agency where students are charged a flat fee included in the student’s tuition and fees.
• Provide either an opt-out or opt-in model, depending on the request by agency.
- The bookstore system must go through the web services component that is provided by the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Enterprise System.
- This delivered component interface allows 3rd party software to integrate directly with PeopleSoft, moreover, it is preferable that the bookstore system be a certified partner with PeopleSoft.
- Plans to provide a fully integrated buy-back program that includes the ability for students to sell their used textbooks to any college bookstore location.
- Overall marketing plan for the bookstore.
- Plan to sell or rent graduation-related merchandise.
- Plan to market emblematic/logo merchandise, including selling and promoting emblematic and logo merchandise on the bookstore’s website.
- Partner in the buying and selling all required, recommended, or suggested course materials and tools, including books, course packs, computer software, and materials published and distributed electronically or sold over the Internet and any other proprietary online service.
