The Vendor is required to provide the department with 340b pharmaceutical services for facilities in the western region.
- The pharmaceutical services will be limited to 340b outpatient pricing for patients who are seen at the providers medical clinics or via telemedicine when applicable and are therefore eligible for these prices.
- Supply HIV+/aids (antiretrovirals) and hepatitis c (direct acting antivirals) and other designated specialty medications specifically required for the treatment of inmates designated by the purchasing agency.
- Ensure continuity of services in the event of medication supply shortage or emergency.
- Provide a dedicated pharmacy technician to respond to calls from doc facilities, help troubleshoot any issues, fill prescriptions and help with shipping Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Provide medications as prescribed by physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
- Medications shall be provided at federal public health service 340b drug program prices.
- Provide 2nd day air mail order medication delivery service. "2nd day air" shall mean prescriptions received in the contractor’s pharmacy by 2:00 p.m. shall be packaged for delivery, mailed that day, and delivered to the doc facility by 4:30 p.m. two business days later, Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.
- For example, a prescription received on Monday before 2:00 p.m. will be delivered to the facility no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
- Provide a 30-day supply of covered medications for each referred inmate at the time of his/her release.
- Responsible for screening and evaluating allergy, interaction, dosage and drug/drug interaction with medications filled by other pharmacy providers.
- Verify dosage, provide drug information (written and verbally), and provide other pharmacy related services.
- Drug information, both written and verbal, to support the appropriate use of medications dispensed at the contractor’s pharmacies.
- Conduct allergy, interaction, dosage checks and other professional pharmacy services associated with medication dispensing for all prescriptions filled at a contractor outpatient pharmacy.
