The Vendor is required to provide pharmacy services and medical supplies to the Centre.
- The outcomes of the competition may include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide service delivery;
• Maintain service requirements;
• Improve medication adherence;
• Reduce adverse drug events;
• Enhance patient knowledge and understanding;
• Maintain safe medication delivery practices; and
• Maintain and improve cost savings.
- Service Requirements
• Provide Medication Administration Records (MARs) and labels for medication changes on an as needed basis with ability to access and maintain a MARs in electronic or paper format;
• Provide continuing education sessions for staff at the Centre for a minimum of 4 hours annually.
• The educations sessions may include but are not limited to, new medications, new products, new medication administration procedures, industry best practices and any other topics the Successful Supplier proposes that would be beneficial to the Centre;
• Deliver cognitive and consultative pharmacy services in accordance with applicable legislation and professional standards;
• Provide one or more pharmacists to be available to provide on-call coverage for services to the Centre, including all weekends and statutory holidays;
• Ensure an uninterrupted chain of custody of all drugs during pick-up and delivery by a representative of the pharmacy
• Provide a closely monitored tracking system documenting the dispensing and return of all controlled substance and narcotics, including long-term record retention for audit purposes.
• Permit licensed pharmacists and pharmacy technicians employed by the Successful Supplier to have access to medication records.
