Pharmacist Consultant Services

The Vendor is required to provide pharmacist consultant services for include:
•    Quarterly documented on-site visits to ensure that the clinic is following set policies and procedures; 
•    Maintenance of log of activities performed during the monthly visits to be sent to the administrative office; 
•    Oversight of procurement and storage of drugs and devices; 
•    Assist in the establishment of additional pharmacy sites, to include obtaining pharmacy licensure from the state board of pharmacy; 
•    Determining specifications of all drugs and devices procured by county public health; 
•    Maintenance of records of all transactions of the pharmacy as may be required by applicable law and as may be necessary to maintain accurate control over and accountability for all drugs and devices; 
•    Development and periodic review of a policy and procedure manual for the pharmacy in conjunction with the county staff; 
•    Meeting inspection and other requirements of the pharmacy act; 
•    Cameron county public health purchases public health medications through the state – general services commission – and receives some medications free of charge from the department; however, some dispensing of prescription orders may be requested; and
•    Conducting in-service training at least annually for supportive personnel, who provide drugs; such training should be related to actions, contraindications, adverse reactions and pharmacology of drugs contained in the formulary; and 
•    Hours performing above service normally averages four (4) to eight (8) hours monthly; however, should an emergency communicable disease occur, additional hours may be required.
