Employee Benefits Brokerage and Consulting Services

The vendor required to provide employee benefits brokerage services required for our municipality with a distributed employee population and a growing retiree population.
- Requirement:
•    Provide the full range of services related to the design, implementation, maintenance, communication, and improvement of its group benefit programs.
•    Assistance with the development, design and planning of employee and retiree benefit programs, including strategic planning, wellness initiatives, benchmarking, and modeling to reduce risk and achieve cost efficiencies.
•    Assist the charter township of HR and finance teams in administering employee and retiree insurance plans, responding to questions, providing information to staff, and providing other related consulting services during the plan year.
•    Negotiate annual renewal of coverage from carriers for our benefit programs. 
•    Seek competitive quotes from benefit carriers and provide advice and recommendations for consideration, which includes an insurance coverage alignment with charter township of values.
•    HR and finance teams to measure progress against our goals and review claims experience, claim service, and claim administration to ensure maximum benefit to charter township.
•    Determine and recommend the most economical funding methods for the benefit programs and strike a balance between cost and comprehensiveness of the programs.
•    Assist charter township with the implementation and communication of new programs or changes to existing programs by providing communication materials and meeting support which will include, but is not limited to, attending and presenting information at employee and board meetings and at forums with union leadership.
•    Development of participant communication, enrollment and educational materials related to township insurance plans.
•    Oversight and reconciliation of insurance plan rebate, reimbursement, and subsidy programs.
