The vendor is required to provide e-waste recycling services within the county and its partner entities.
- contractor shall be regularly and continuously engaged in the business of providing e-waste recycling services and possess all necessary professional credentials to supply products and perform the services.
- Electronic waste (e-waste):
• Electronic waste is defined as computer equipment, equipment, connectors/cords/wire, communication systems, circuit boards, fax machines, printers, mainframes, modems, cell phones, test equipment, audio and visual equipment, hard/floppy drives, cd rom drives, network/video/sound cards, tape drive, mother boards, power supplies, scrap copper, scrap computer plastic, scrap computer metal, copy machines, electric typewriters, electronic calculators, and liquid crystal display (lcd) monitors.
- Recycle, recycling can be defined as redirecting e-waste and CRTS to a new user or a re-furbisher or directing e-waste and CRTs to an appropriate facility for disassembly and processing and sale of components.
- Contractor is required to collect, package, transport, dispose of and recycle electronic equipment that includes, but is not limited to cathode ray tubes (CRT) and items containing circuit boards and batteries.
- Other electronics not covered under sb20/50 shall also be collected for recycling
- Provide verification as an approved recycler through the state integrated waste management board (CIWMB) and provide their identification number and expiration date.
- Contractor shall manage e-waste to the "highest and best use" with minimal amount of disposal possible, which may include all or any of the following: de-manufacturing to large size components, recycling to base components, or crushing and smelting to base components.
- Provide boxes, pallets, metal bins, stretch wrap and other materials necessary for the collection of e-waste.
- Provide container(s) or truck(s) for loading e-waste.
- Provide labor necessary to palletize and prepare equipment for loading
- Contractor shall be responsible for all transportation costs related to the recycling or disposal of e-waste and data destruction.
- Recycling services:
• Contractor shall recycle e-waste hardware through the process of remarketing or dismantling the components and recycling the units to base components.
• Provide a detailed report describing the recycling processes used and identify the disposition of the materials recycled as resale, repair, parts salvage, scrap recycling, etc.
