The vendor is required to provide american sign language (ASL) interpretation professional to perform in-person one-on-one interpretation services as required to support identified students.
- Have documented orientation, training, and competencies on the interpretation requirements specified by the child’s educational placement.
- Have a completed health clearance that includes pre-employment physical and tb skin testing.
- Provide interpretation in a manner consistent with the level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by others practicing under similar conditions.
- Adhere to confidentiality and shall not share information pertaining to students other than the one served with anyone outside the school environment.
- Inform agency within twenty-four (24) hours of any complaint from a student, family member, school personnel or medical professional.
- Providing ASL interpretation services to identified students according to their individual school’s calendar and daily operating hours.
• ASL interpretation services are not scheduled when there are teacher work days, holidays or when a student is absent; payment is not provided for these days and times.
• May include field trips away from the school campus. - Be attentive and engaged while accompanying the student throughout the school day.
• Provide assistance with day-to-day student participation in classroom activities.
- Provide all services in a timely, complete and professional manner.
• Payment is not provided for any time spent with the student before bus arrives to pick up the student and after the bus delivers the student home.
- Collaborate with the student’s school case manager and teacher(s) to complete the monthly agency verification form that documents the daily hours ASL interpretation services were provided.
- The provider agrees to ensure that each ASL interpreter will:
• Store the verification form at a designated place at the school; form is not to be removed from the classroom or other secure location at the school.
• Record daily accurate transportation departure and arrival times.
• Record daily school services times.
• Record dates student is absent, arrives late, leaves early with accurate times.
• Ensure teacher recording attendance is aware of late arrivals and early departures.
- Contract Period/Term: 1 year
