RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide for a comprehensive, web-based platform that delivers career and technical education (CTE) curriculum centered around esports and gaming as the base for learning that are aligned with the state standards.
- This platform should allow teachers to customize any lessons or upload their own content, group students into classes, and track student progress.
- Project goals:
• Provide a web-based CTE curriculum that is aligned with the state standards, integrating academic, technical, and career readiness skills with a focus on esports industry relevance.
• Equip students with critical skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and digital literacy to prepare them for careers in fields like esports, technology, digital media, marketing, and broadcasting.
• Introduce students to career pathways in esports, including broadcasting, game design, event management, marketing, and analytics, while fostering interest in stem-related careers.
• Provide professional development and resources to enable teachers to effectively deliver the esports curriculum, regardless of their prior knowledge of the industry.
• Create a program that ensures equitable access to high-quality esports education opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Pilot the program successfully at two high schools, with the goal of scaling district-wide to 15 high schools and potentially middle schools over the next 3-5 years.
• Increase student engagement in school through participation in team-oriented esports activities, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
• Develop a scalable framework that positions the district as a leader in esports education while building a foundation for ongoing innovation in CTE programs.
- Requirements:
• Provide a comprehensive esports curriculum that is aligned with state CTE standards for the following courses:
i. Game design and development
ii. Advance animation
iii. Cybersecurity fundamentals
iv. Introduction to computer programming
• Deliver scalable technology platform to support instruction, student engagement, and progress tracking.
• This platform should be user-friendly for both students and teachers, who may or may not be familiar with game design or esports already.
• Platform should be accessible either through google via SSO or class link.
• Include a variety of instructional materials, such as lesson plans, presentations, activities, assessments, and online resources.
• Disclose all external programs, applications, or plugins used in the platform to comply with the district’s app approval process.
• Provide in-game content of non-fps games for teams, clubs, and other extracurricular activities in the district.
• This content should be engaging and include topics such as using technology safely, leadership, communication.
• Provide initial and ongoing professional development (pd) training for teachers, administrators, and other educators on how to effectively integrate esports into their educational programs.
• Options for in-person, hybrid, and online delivery methods are recommended
• The curriculum should include flexible components that can be adapted for different grade levels, particularly for future middle school implementations.
• Support in the form of email, phone call, or web-based chat is preferable.
• Ensure the platform integrates with existing county systems, such as our student information system (SIS), our rostering process, and our single sign-on process.
• Platform should be accessible either through google via SSO or class link.
• Provide learning benchmarks as students’ progress through your software to assess mastery
• Provide a variety of formative and summative assessment tools, such as quizzes, projects, and performance-based tasks, that measure student learning, progress, and skill development through both qualitative and quantitative data.
• Provide granular control over user roles and permissions to ensure data security and appropriate access levels.
