The vendor is required to provide enterprise private cloud disaster recovery services for include:
1. Planning and design:
• Work with county IT staff to confirm project goals and site-specific requirements
• Review the design of the existing primary data center and create a matching setup for the DR site
• Provide network, system, and configuration plans for county approval before deployment
• Document key requirements such as rack space, power, cabling, and inter-site connectivity
2. Hardware installation and configuration:
• Install and connect cisco UCS servers, fabric interconnects, and related hardware
• Configure the system to match the county’s production environment standards
• Ensure proper integration with the county’s existing network infrastructure and support cross-site communication
3. Virtualization platform setup:
• Install VMware ESXI on cisco UCS servers
• Set up VMware vCenter to manage the DR environment, either linked to or independent from production
• Configure virtual networks, resource pools, and storage connections in line with the primary site
4. Storage and backup integration:
• Set up pure storage systems and connect them to the virtualization environment
• Install and configure the enterprise backup solution (probably by the county) to support recovery operations
• Assist in setting up data replication from the primary site and test backup and restoration capabilities
5. Testing and validation:
• Verify that all systems are operating as expected, including servers, storage, networking, and backup
• Perform test recoveries or failovers to conform readiness of the DR site
• Address any technical issues that arise during testing
6. Documentation and knowledge transfer:
• Deliver complete documentation for the installed systems, configurations, and operational setup
• Provide training and walkthrough for county IT staff on how to operate and maintain the new environment
• Include instructions and procedures for managing key components
7. Escalated support period:
• Offer a defined support period after deployment where the vendor will remain available to resolve any issues or assist with fine-tuning
• Coordinate with county staff to confirm when the DR site is fully stable and ready for ongoing operation
8. Assumptions and exclusions:
• All required hardware, software, and services must be included in the vendor’s proposal
• The project does not include ongoing managed services or application-specific DR planning
• The solution must follow the county’s security, support, and performance standards
9. Project closeout:
• Develop and deliver comprehensive as-built documentation for all deployed systems and infrastructure components
• Facilitate two (2) knowledge transfer sessions (4 hours each) covering core infrastructure platforms
• Facilitate two (2) knowledge transfer sessions (4 hours each) focused on network and storage systems
• Conduct one (1) knowledge transfer session (4 hours) addressing system operations and monitoring tools
• Submit final project deliverables and obtain formal customer signoff confirming project completion.
