The vendor is required to provide testing, maintenance, inspection and repair services on campus for all fire dampers, smoke dampers, and fire smoke damper unit.
- General requirements:
• All housing/auxiliary buildings shall be tested, inspected, and repaired during the months of may, June and July 2025 (13 buildings, 1,329 total dampers)
• Facilities buildings shall be tested in the months of December and January 2025/2026 (10 buildings, total 5 per year, 354 total dampers)
• All repairs shall be completed by a qualified individual and firm who routinely inspects, maintains and repairs fire dampers, smoke dampers and fire smoke damper units.
• Notifier and honey-well certified fire alarm technicians shall be provided by the awarded contractor and be on site to put fire alarm panel into test, continuously monitor alarm panel for pre alarm and fire alarms and set the system back to normal operation and clear any troubles in the system caused by damper testing, everyday fire damper testing and repairs are being performed.
• The campus is divided into two scheduling zones:
o Facilities
o Housing
• All inspection, testing, and repairs shall meet the following NFPA standards at a minimum:
o Fire dampers: chapter 19 of NFPA, standard for fire doors and other opening protections
o Smoke dampers: chapter 7 of NFPA 105, standard for smoke door assemblies and other opening protectives
o Smoke control systems: NFPA 92, standard for smoke control systems.
