The vendor is required to provide mobility management services to collaborate with transportation providers, human services agencies, businesses, employers, non-profit organizations, membership groups, residents, and neighboring counties.
- The goal is to determine the transportation needs and subsequently develop, improve, and coordinate efforts to help people of all ages, abilities, and income levels have access to public transportation. improving current public transportation services and developing new transportation options helps residents overcome barriers to accessing employment, local businesses, public spaces, medical care, human services, and social services programs.
- Mobility management will work to encourage coordination between stakeholders to maximize access to public transportation options and to improve transportation services.
- Development of a coordinated transportation plan
• Improve and sustain the operations of existing bus routes and transportation services
• Identification of amenities to install on buses and at bus stops
• Outreach and education strategies and plans
• Assessment of the sustainability and efficiency of public transit routes, and suggestions of alterations to routes and schedules as needed based on analysis of data collected
• Exploration of other services to provide that would benefit riders and promote the use of already existing routes
• Potential to collaborate with human services and other local agencies to create new routes and services.
- Developing and implementing the county’s coordinated transportation plan, the selected agency to provide mobility management services will also:
• Schedule and coordinate public transportation task force meetings to be held at least once per quarter
• Assist the transportation coordinator with the preparation of information needed to submit annual budget, funding applications, quarterly and annual reports
• provide technical assistance to the bus operations staff as needed to help improve the delivery of service and the understanding of federal and state transit programs.
• Assist in the preparation of information needed to submit timely quarterly and annual reports as required to receive rural transit funding.
• Partner with local agencies, organizations, interested parties, and adjacent counties to help address transportation barriers that are not readily resolved using the county’s existing public transportation programs and services.
