RFP Description

The Vendor is required to provide nutrition consultation, education and monitoring services for older persons living in the state gulf coast area.
- Service 1 - Nutrition Contractor Monitoring and Reporting
1. Service Definition:
• Provide on-site kitchen monitoring of nutrition contractors to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety laws, the older Americans act, the code, and AAA policies and procedures.
• Provide on-site monitoring, and technical assistance to ensure proper food safety including but not limited to handling, storage, temperature, sanitation, and delivery.
2. Service activities:
• Perform site evaluations and monitoring to ensure proper health and safety.
• Submit site evaluation and result reports directly to the AAA.
• Conduct consumer satisfaction surveys and provide results directly to the AAA.
• Assist the AAA in reviewing food service proposals.
3. Service reimbursement:
• This is a unit rate reimbursement service.
• A fixed unit rate will be negotiated for each service prior to the initiation of service.
• These unit rates are not subject to renegotiation once resulting contract has been signed by both parties.
- Service 2 – Nutrition Consultation Services
1. Service definition:
• Nutrition related information or services are provided to the AAA by a licensed dietician. Such services do not include nutrition monitoring.
• Create and deliver meal menus that meet one third of the recommended daily dietary allowance for individuals sixty (60) years of age or older as per the dietary guidelines for Americans
• Ensure that planned menus provide for variety in flavor, consistency, texture, and temperature.
• Conduct menu planning meetings and health safety training for community nutrition contractors. Meeting will be coordinated between contractor and council AAA.
2. Service reimbursement:
• This is a unit rate reimbursement service. A fixed unit rate will be negotiated for each service prior to the initiation of service.
• These unit rates are not subject to renegotiation once resulting contract has been signed by both parties. - Service 3 – nutrition education services
1. Service definition:
• Provision of information to older individuals to promote nutritional well-being and to delay the onset of adverse health conditions resulting from poor nutritional health or sedentary behavior.
• Service must be provided by a licensed dietician.
2. Service activities:
• Develop nutrition education material for persons sixty (60) years of age or older.
• Conduct nutrition education and training for community nutrition contractors.
3. Service reimbursement:
• This is a unit rate reimbursement service. A fixed unit rate will be negotiated for each service prior to the initiation of service.
• These unit rates are not subject to renegotiation once resulting contract has been signed by both parties.
