RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide that paper shredding recycling services for government facilitated shred events.
- Scope:
• The contractor shall:
o Provide high quality services in accordance with good practices, procedures, and naid industry standards.
o Provide one (1) to two (2) mobile shredding vehicle(s) at twelve (12) scheduled shred events, based upon county government’s request.
- The equipment affidavit listing vehicle information shall be included with submission.
o Remain onsite to complete shredding services for all paper collected including paper not shredded by the scheduled ending time for each event.
o provide another vehicle onsite if the supplied contractor vehicle fills up or fails during a shred Event. if another vehicle cannot arrive during the scheduled shred event hours, provide a vehicle to shred collected paper at a time and location determined by county government.
o Weigh and destroy all paper by shredding and provide a certificate of destruction for each container provided to the contractor for each event, as requested.
o Be responsible for the shredding, processing, removal, and recycling of designated paper recyclables at scheduled event locations.
o Accept all designated collected paper recyclable materials:
- Household generated: no limits to amount accepted.
- Business generated: limited to a maximum of the equivalency of five (5) banker boxes per company.
- County government generated: no limit to amount accepted.
o Comply with all applicable federal, state, county, and local statues, ordinances, and regulations.
• Shred events:
o Shred events shall take place once per month on a Saturday, dates yet to be determined, rain or shine, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., at the following rotating proposed locations:
- Mt. hope convenience center, 96 pushaw station road, sunderland, state, 20689;
- Huntingtown high school, 4125 solomona island road, huntingtown, state 20639; and
- Appeal landfill, 401 sweetwater road, lusby, state 20657.
o County government reserves the right to add or remove locations as required.
o The paper to be shred during shred events shall come from three (3) sources:
- Calvert county, state households;
- Alvert county, state businesses; and
- Calvert county government.
