RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide management and staffing services for the city-owned and operated pools.
- Pre-season maintenance duties:
- Start-up – the selected contractor should prepare all facilities for operations and ensure that all aspects of state and federal compliance are met; duties will include but are not limited to:
• Ensure required and appropriate signage is posted in the correct locations.
• Ensure all required safety equipment is on site, such as: life preserver rings, backboards, life hooks, etc.; whatever equipment is not on site, it is the contractor's responsibility to provide it.
• Ensure that the required landlines and telephones are operational; report any repairs needed to city staff.
• Clean the bathhouse including scrubbing all floors and washing down walls with appropriate cleaners.
• Clean all restroom facilities and wax all porcelain with post wax.
•“De-winterizing” facility to include toilets, showers, pump room.
• Scrub all pool walls/floors and decks and treat them with appropriate chemicals to ensure that they are free from algae and mildew.
• Fill all pools to appropriate water levels and stabilize/condition the water chemistry using appropriate chemicals according to agency standards.
- Chemicals: selected contractor and their operator shall be responsible for ordering and stocking appropriate quality and quantity of pool chemicals for water conditioning and sanitation, for the entire pool season(s), at its cost; all chemicals must be stored and maintained according to agency standards; operators must have current safety data sheets (SDS) for all chemicals in each facility; SDS sheets must always be readily available, and all employees are to be trained in the use and location of said SDS sheets.
- Chemical feed systems: the contractor will be responsible for providing, installing, and maintaining all chemical feed systems at all facilities.
- Filtration systems: the contractor shall inspect and prepare the pool filtration systems (including pumps) to ensure that they are operational according to agency standards; report any repairs needed to city staff.
- Inspections: the contractor shall arrange and ensure that a representative is present for all required agency inspections; the contractor is responsible for ensuring that all conditions required by agency are met such as: appropriate logbooks, safety equipment, water test kit, etc.
