The vendor is required to provide replacing its IP (internet protocol) security camera systems at the McBean regional transit center (MRTC) and the transit maintenance facility (TMF) with a hybrid cloud-based security camera system.
- Objectives
• Replace existing IP cameras with high-resolution, hybrid cloud-based security cameras.
• Install all necessary hardware including but not limited to cameras, mounting hardware, ethernet cabling, long distance ethernet signal boosters, patch panels, network switches, and accessories.
• Adjust cameras as necessary to provide the optimal image capture as directed by transit staff.
• Include unlimited users, 5 years of software licensing, 10 years of hardware warranty, and 90- days of on-board video retention.
• Provide training on the use of the security camera system including its features and capabilities
• Return all replaced cameras and associated hardware that is no longer in use to the city.
• Hardware proposed should be as specified below.
- Hardware requirements
a. Cameras
• Verkada cd42 and cd42-e or equivalent cameras.
• Internet protocol (IP) and power over ethernet (POE).
• 5 MP (megapixel) 2592 x 1944 pixels or better resolution.
• On-board solid-state storage for 90-days of video retention.
• Ability to upload camera footage to cloud storage at scheduled intervals.
• Cloud-based interface with the ability to directly stream the cameras from the local network without traversing the internet.
• Ability to review recorded footage and stream live footage from both android and iOS apps.
• Automated camera firmware updates that require no administrative intervention.
• No network video recorder (NVR).
b. Long distance ethernet solution (for ethernet distances longer than 100 meters)
• Veracity LONGSPAN and veracity LONGSPAN max long distance ethernet solution or equivalent.
• Enhance standard ethernet to provide full 100base-tx with POE up to 820 meters.
- Supplier responsibilities
• Prior to response, supplier shall visit and survey the MRTC and TMF and review desired camera locations in order to prepare an accurate bid or proposal.
• Supplier shall be a certified solution provider for the chosen camera system.
• Supplier shall have a c-7 contractor’s license.
• Supplier shall replace existing IP cameras with high-resolution, hybrid cloud-based security cameras.
• Supplier shall install all necessary hardware including but not limited to cameras, mounting hardware, ethernet cabling, long distance ethernet signal boosters, patch panels, network switches, and accessories.
• Supplier shall include unlimited users, 5 years of software licensing, 10 years of hardware warranty, and 90-days of on-board video retention.
• Supplier shall provide training on the use of the security camera system including its features and capabilities.
• Supplier shall return all replaced cameras and associated hardware that is no longer in use to the city.
