The vendor is required to provide geotechnical investigation services under federal emergency management administration (FEMA’s) hazard mitigation grant program.
• Coordinate with the city and its engineering consultant for boring locations and traffic control requirements.

• Provide required traffic control in accordance with the state manual of uniform traffic control devices d) perform approximately thirty-eight (38) soil borings within existing street rights-of-way along the proposed storm sewer alignment.
• Borings shall be taken approximately every 500’± along the proposed route of the sewer separation.
• Anticipated boring depths shall extend at least 5 feet below the proposed invert elevations, estimated to range from 5 feet to 30 feet below existing grade.
• Obtain and log representative soil samples at appropriate intervals, with classification in accordance with ASTM standards.
• Perform appropriate laboratory testing on representative samples, including but not limited to: grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, moisture content, unconfined compressive strength (if warranted), and organic content.
• Record groundwater levels at the time of drilling, with follow-up monitoring as needed.
• Prepare a comprehensive geotechnical report including boring logs, soil profiles, laboratory test results, groundwater data, engineering analyses, and design recommendations related to:
o Trench excavation and stability
o Soil classification and suitability for backfill and bedding
o Dewatering requirements and methods
o Pavement section recommendations for restoration.
