The Vendor is required to provide pre-employment background investigations to determine suitability of public safety dispatcher candidates consistent.
- Background investigation services will be conducted:
• Prepare and verify background investigation services (BGI) packet - to include, but not limited to, agency-specific information, personal history questionnaire, required and/or requested supporting documents, waivers and authorization forms, agency advisements/forms, credit advisement forms, and any other forms relevant to this investigative process.
• Meet with candidate(s) and county as needed including, but not limited to, the pre and post investigative processes
• Review of personal history questionnaire (PHQ) and other required and/or requested supporting documents to verify authenticity and to evaluate suitability of candidate.
• Conduct background interview(s) of candidate(s) in order to: 1) affirm documents submitted are true, correct and up to date, 2) explore reasons or explanations for inconsistent, suspicious, or incomplete responses, 2) correct truly inadvertent errors or oversights and 4) gain an overall impression of the candidate(s).
• Conduct investigation - to include, but not limited to, mail or email inquiries, phone calls, face to face interviews, and physical inspections or combination thereof.
• Review results of inquiries, records checks, employment verification, references, internet/social media searches, residence inspections, neighborhood checks, deception examinations, and any other available source to provide information to determine suitability of candidate(s). Coordinate with various agencies, contractors, and the general public, if needed, consistent with state and federal law to obtain information.
• Prepare and submit, through digital platform selected by the county, a BGI packet to include, but not limited to: narrative summary, interview results, PHQ, verified copies of relevant supporting documents and completed background report in compliance with post (peace officers standards and training) regulations.
• Maintain an on-going rapport with the county's designee during the investigative process.
• BGI results and recommendations should be submitted no later than eight (8) weeks from the date the investigation is assigned to contractor. Investigation will be assigned using digital platform selected by the county.
