Geotechnical Investigation Services

The Vendor is required to provide geotechnical investigations for the 2027 street resurfacing program.
- Primary work
1. Pavement cores with subgrade testing. (51 locations)
• Dynamic cone penetrometer tests to a depth of 18” below the bottom of the existing pavement.
• Soil borings to be provided to a depth of 5’ below grade at all pavement core locations, with lpc 662
2. A report of findings including:
• Pavement core summary which includes material type, thickness, coefficients, structural number and overall structural value for each core. This shall include assessments of any cam or POZZ bases encountered.
• Pavement types and thicknesses.
• Stone base types and thicknesses.
• Subgrade strength. (QU)
• Calculated structural numbers for each pavement section.
• Color photos of the pavement and stone base sections, with measurements.
• IEPA lpc-662 documentation.
• Soil testing results, soil classifications and a PH summary table/chart.
