The vendor required to provide digitization of photographic negatives and prints in the collections of the agency.
- Requirement:
• Packing and shipping of photographic negatives and prints from the agency to the contractor
• Metadata recorded into excel file and embedded in tiff and jpeg
• Selection of best copy available of each unique photographic negative and print for scanning
• Conservation work to remove paper, if possible, from photographic negatives and prints to ensure the best image possible
• Scanning of photographic negatives and prints to FADGI 3-star specifications, creating preservation-quality tiff files.
• Duplication of each preservation tiff file as a jpeg access file
• Sleeving and numbering photographic prints in acid-free archival quality sleeves
• Return shipping of sleeved photographic prints to the agency
• Return of tiff (preservation) and jpeg (access) files to the agency on contractor-provided new external hard SSD hard drives
• Appropriate and legal disposal of photographic negatives after scanning
- Quantity
• The contractor will be tasked with initial digitization cycle of between 10,000-15,000 images for the first year with the possibility of extending the contract for up to 7 years with additional images.
