The vendor is required to provide for contract services for consultants to provide student workshops and a parent lecture series on how to develop healthy habits on social media, to be provided under federally mandated equitable services to students and staff at participating non-public schools.
- The consultant should be an academic expert in the field of adolescence and childhood development with a strong understanding of the positive and negative effects of social media on teenagers.
a. For students
• The consultant should be able to provide workshops on safely navigating adolescent dynamics in the social media landscape.
• The student strand of this work will involve small and large group discussions and skill building workshops in support of students building capacity as effective decision makers.
b. For parents
• The consultant should be able to develop and implement a parent lecture series on safe and healthy social media relationships.
• The lecture series should be focused on how parents can support children as they encounter social media and develop healthy habits for interacting with content and others in the digital realm.
c. For faculty and staff
• The consultant should be able to develop and implement a PD session for faculty and staff who teach students in this digital space and world.
• The consultant should focus the PD session on how faculty (many who are advisors to middle and upper school students) can support both students and parents in establishing a healthy relationship with social media and in the digital realm.
• Consultant can also advise how faculty might correlate to students’ acceptable use in school spaces that align with the mission of the school and in support of student health and wellness.
