The Vendor is required to provide media replenishment in a filter shall mean it is ready to return to service for processing drinking water to the system.
- Replenishment of filter media includes preparation for service, skimming and removal of fine media, verification the required media depth has been achieved in each filter, and final disinfection.
- Responsible for all material handling and conveyance equipment for placement of the new media.
- Provide any hoisting, rigging, hoses etc. unless specified otherwise.
- Arrange for and include in the bid for this work ‘just in time’ delivery for the replenishment media.
- Media delivered to the water treatment plant for filter replenishment shall be stored off of the ground on pallets or cribbing and covered with tarps to prevent rainwater from saturating the media.
- Existing attic stock media:
• Place all existing attic stock media that is currently stored in the filter building south garage before placing any new media purchased for this project.
• Media leftover after replenishment is complete the extra media (new media only) will be retained by agency as attic stock for future use and placed by the contractor in an area at the main water treatment plant selected by agency designated representative.
