The vendor is required to provide code enforcement services on an as-needed basis.
- Staffing levels will be determined by the city's operational needs and may include a combination of part-time and full-time personnel.
- Assigned personnel will be expected to work collaboratively with community members, including residents, tenants, landlords, and business owners, to support a safe, healthy, and well-maintained environment.
- Capable of resolving issues efficiently and safely and must possess experience in investigative techniques that support the validation of complaints and the appropriate processing of verified violations in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.
- The assigned officer(s) shall
• Comply with the city’s procedures for reporting inspection results and deficiencies.
• Use city inspection correction forms.
• Complete necessary digital entries that capture site inspection results, case status communications and any documentation of notices provided to responsible parties and stakeholders.
• Conduct code enforcement related inspections as needed.
• Maintain records as needed for the efficient and effective operation of the city.
• Meet with members of the general public and municipal staff on a daily basis as needed.
- The most common areas of concern may include but are not limited to:
1. General property maintenance and blight
• Address conditions such as overgrown vegetation, accumulation of waste or debris, graffiti, and other visual nuisances that affect neighborhood livability.
• Engage with property owners and tenants to promote voluntary compliance.
2. Unpermitted activities and vending
• Monitor and respond to unpermitted commercial activities, including vending on public property or within restricted areas.
• Activities may include education, issuing citations, and coordinating with other departments for compliance.
3. Signage compliance
• Review and enforce signage regulations to ensure all temporary and permanent signs meet local codes, contributing to a visually consistent and legally compliant public environment.
4. Rental housing standards
• Assist in inspecting rental properties to ensure they meet applicable health, safety, and maintenance standards.
• Provide education and outreach to landlords, tenants, and property managers regarding compliance expectations.
