The vendor is required to provide nursing personnel and related administrative and supervisory staff necessary to provide patient care services at the hospital, including all associated facilities and grounds supply staff in the following categories, as requested by hospital:
• Registered nurses (RNs)
• Licensed practical nurses (LPNs)
• Psychiatric technicians (pts)
• Nurse managers and supervisory nursing staff (RNs)
1. Staffing and qualifications
• Provide personnel who hold current licensure and certification for their discipline.
• Staff must meet minimum experience requirements as defined by hospital for each classification.
• All staff complete required background checks, drug screening, and health clearances (including tb testing, immunizations, and physical exams) prior to placement.
• Staff attend and successfully complete hospital new employee orientation and unit-based training before providing independent patient care.
2. Duties and responsibilities
• Deliver safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered care in accordance with established nursing standards and hospital policies.
• Perform assignments as directed by hospital nurse managers or designees, which may include direct care, documentation, medication administration, crisis intervention, and participation in treatment planning.
• Maintain a professional and respectful work environment that supports patient recovery and safety.
• Follow all hospital infection control, safety, and emergency procedures.
3. Scheduling and coverage
• Personnel are available to cover all shifts (day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays) as requested by hospital.
• Provide replacements for staff who call out or are unable to report for duty, with response times consistent with contract requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care by assigning staff familiar with hospital policies and units whenever possible.
4. Supervision and accountability
• Designate a nurse manager or supervisory nurse to oversee contract staff and serve as liaison with hospital administration.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Performance issues, code of conduct violations, or breaches in patient safety will be addressed immediately, in collaboration with hospital nursing administration.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and payroll records for all assigned personnel.
5. Reporting and documentation
• Ensure that staff accurately complete and maintain patient care documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide hospital with regular reports on staffing levels, attendance, and compliance with credentialing requirements.
• Immediately notify hospital of any incidents, injuries, or policy violations involving contract staff.
