The vendor required to provide speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and private duty nursing services for individuals who currently receive services through community in accordance with the department Medicaid provider manual.
- Requirement
1. Occupational therapy (“OT”), physical therapy (“PT”) and speech therapy (ST) service providers must maintain appropriate state of certification and licensing including:
• Occupational therapist licensed by the state
• Occupational therapist assistant must be supervised by a licensed occupational therapist
• Physical therapist licensed by the state
• Physical therapist assistant must be supervised by a licensed physical therapist
• Speech-language pathologist or audiologists licensed by the state
• Speech-language pathology assistant must be supervised by the speech language pathologist or audiologist
2. Private duty nursing (“PDN”)
• Nurses providing PDN must maintain appropriate state of licensing.
o Registered nurse(“RN”)
1. Must be licensed to practice in state
2. May enroll directly as a Medicaid provider
• Licensed practical nurse
• Must be licensed to practice in state
• Must work under the supervision of a Medicaid-enrolled RN
• Supervising RN must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in community mental health, pediatrics, maternal and child health or similar practice
• On-site supervisory visits by the RN at least once every two (2) months in the beneficiary’s home.
