RFP Description

The Vendor is required to provide all incarcerated individuals in its custody with health care services which are equivalent to those available to the public.
- Currently provides nursing, dental, medical records staffing, and administrative services directly to the institutions with the exception of nursing and medical records staffing at agency.
- Partner with department to increase the provision of on-site specialty services in order to decrease off-site services and associated costs (i.e., transportation and security); and
- The clinical oversight of medical services at the site level is a critical function of senior medical management.
- The functions of the statewide medical director shall include participation in the continuous quality improvement program, participation in pharmacy and therapeutics committee meetings and formulary management, consultation on policies and procedures, formulations of cost savings initiatives, and provide analysis of data to identify trends and potential issues.
- The statewide medical director and assistant medical director, assigned to the central office, are not to be utilized to provide contract hours at the site level, on either a short-term or a long-term basis.
- This shall include sufficient on-site visits to remain connected with medical operations at the site level. - Regional/district medical directors are also site medical directors and shall devote a sufficient amount of time, including on-site visits, to perform their supervisory/mentoring duties.
