The Vendor is required to provide registered nurses (RNS) and/or licensed practical nurses (LPNS) to support student health services across the district.
- Daily responsibilities include monitoring the health and wellness of students, administering medications, conducting wellness checks, and responding to a variety of health-related needs that may arise throughout the school day.
- Nurses are also expected to maintain accurate and timely health records and monitor student well-being during any incidents involving restraint, seclusion, or other health-related interventions.
- Licensed Practical Nurses may be assigned to support the health needs of students in both small group settings and through one-on-one care.
- LPNs must be able to manage a range of medical conditions and provide nursing services across various environments, including in-school, community settings, and offsite activities such as field trips.
- They must also be comfortable working independently while following established health plans and collaborating with supervising nurses (i.e., school nurse and/or nursing supervisor) as needed.
- RNs must also be prepared to respond to emergency health or safety situations and support the daily health operations of a school setting. Nurses may also be expected to monitor student well-being during incidents involving restraint, seclusion ensuring compliance with safety and documentation protocols.
