The vendor is required to provide as needed temporary employment services, including administrative, professional, and labor related staffing.
- General
• Temporary employees shall perform the duties associated with the job classification for which they are assigned.
• Any temporary employee who is unsatisfactory or repeatedly late may be replaced at the city’s discretion.
• The work ticket shall be verified and signed by a designated city employee to confirm personnel and hours worked.
• Work tickets that are not signed by a city representative will be considered invalid and will not be paid.
• The ability to provide temporary employees with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice from the city.
• Responsible for notifying the city department utilizing temporary staffing services of any staff changes prior to the scheduled work date.
• Authorize overtime compensation only for temporary employees who work more than 40 hours in a single workweek for the city.
• The city may require temporary staffing outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and city recognized holidays.
• If a temporary worker applies for and is hired into a full time or part time city position, neither the temporary worker nor the city shall be responsible for any sourcing or conversion fees.
- Screening, compliance, and onboarding requirements
• Shall ensure all temporary employees:
o Maintain valid proof of employment eligibility.
o Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
o Have reliable transportation to report on time to the assigned location.
o Can speak, read, and write English when required for the position.
o Demonstrate professionalism, cooperation, and effective communication skills.
o Wear attire appropriate for the assigned role.
• Criminal background check and drug screening for all temporary workers at no additional cost to the city.
• Proof of a completed and cleared background check, along with a negative drug test for the required substances, shall be submitted to the city with the initial invoice for each temporary employee.
• Payment will not be issued for any temporary worker until the required documentation has been received.
• Temporary employees with access to sensitive city information must sign a confidentiality agreement and follow all city it and data security policies.
• Responsible for ensuring temporary workers understand and follow these requirements.
