The vendor is required to provide competency tracking software for students to use during their practicum placements under the medical laboratory technology (MLT) program.
- The software must allow tracking and interface in real time between the students, their industry preceptors, and college staff or faculty.
- Requirements:
• Already be connected to current industry practicum partners in the atlantics provinces.
• Offer preceptor, students, and faculty training and/or documents for training
• Allow for real-time tracking of student competency attainment while out in practicum with clinical partners and in the on-campus simulation course
• Allow programs/schools to manage all users (students, preceptors, etc.) and areas where competencies will be acquired (various laboratory locations); that is, college would have the ability to add/remove preceptors to/from the preceptor list, add/remove laboratory locations, etc.
• All users must be able to log in from any device – handheld, tablet or computer
• Ability to inactivate students and reactivate them if they end up taking more than the 3 years to complete the program – it would not cost more to the student if they were delayed in finishing the program
• The application must be on a dedicated server with a dedicated link; it would not need to be integrated into the school’s network and all servers must remain in state, with no student information stored over international borders
• Built-in areas where student checklists can be completed, evaluations performed with set baselines or pass criteria - based on our current practicum and simulation student manuals
• Built-in area where weekly attendance can be captured
• Built-in communication tool that preceptors can use to communicate with students or faculty
• Provides comment areas where preceptors can leave written feedback
• Ability to view student progress in real-time (i.e., what competencies have they completed or are still pending) by all users
• Provides a way to ensure students read and review the preceptor’s feedback on their evaluation
• Ability by college to filter students by year, location, etc.
• Ability by college to create an access point for accreditation surveyors to view student evaluations with all personal information redacted.
• Automatic notifications to faculty/program when students fail a competency
• Ability by college to pull detailed student reports or summarized data collected in system
• Excellent customer service that provides fast responses/turnaround time
• User-friendly software
• Please describe your timeline of implementation
