The vendor is required to provide faculty information system (“FIS”) to address the management of faculty data, including tracking teaching activities and engagement, research and scholarship related activities, and health care delivery related efforts, responsibilities and accomplishments, including voluntary faculty and community educators.

1. FIS functions
• Provide workflow efficiencies for appointment, reappointment, promotion and tenure
• improve faculty understanding of the process for promotion and tenure (P&T) by providing a dashboard for faculty, enabling earlier promotions through better systems and understanding
• Improve efficiency for all admins involved in P&T process
• Systematize faculty updates for cv, bio sketch and portfolio using auto-fill functions
• Identify where resources need to be allocated based on faculty needs, expertise and successes
• Curate funds flow data that aligns faculty efforts and departmental activities to institutional and hospital funding sources
• Link faculty efforts and responsibilities to clinical practice solutions
• Use annual agreement of faculty academic expectations as a digital source for data (tag projects, etc.)
• Determine clinical, research and teaching workforce numbers (and potential gaps and needs)
• Provide nimble marketing reports to the public and internally regarding publications, research, honors, awards, and other successes (available institutionally and departmentally)
• Create an interface with upstate webpages to efficiently display external faculty portfolios
• Automate the input and integration of metadata from stand-alone internal and external database systems into a single comprehensive research management platform that facilitates reporting on the impact of publications and grant funding including patent and clinical trial award systems
• Meet middle states commission on higher education and liaison committee on medical education (LCME) accreditation requirements
• Demonstrate that upstate has sufficient faculty for teaching
• Track annual reviews of faculty work for all faculty, including voluntary faculty who teach, including campus faculty
• Identify who is doing the teaching
• Enable upstate to be up to date with HR, reporting, P&T and accreditation processes.
