The Vendor is required to provide the Microsoft fabric and azure analytics data platforms to provide hands-on support to the city to guide the development and architecture of the city’s cloud-based fabric environment, following current best practice guidelines.
- The Consultant’s personnel will work directly with the Data and Analytics team (the “Data Team”) of the City’s Information Technology department to collaboratively design and build the Microsoft Fabric environment, guiding the Data Team through each phase of the architecture development, including processes for governance, security, workspace configuration, and data integration.
- The Consultant’s personnel shall provide real-time instruction and walkthroughs during development activities, ensuring that all tasks are performed in a manner that demonstrates best practices and enables the City’s team to gain the knowledge to complete the work required to maintain the environment.
- The City’s expectation is that there will be limited work performed independently (i.e. “offline”) by the Consultant.
- The initial services will primarily focus on the Consultant’s resources (the “Fabric Specialists”) walking the Data Team through the stages and required work to develop the cloud Fabric environment and integrations, with the education and facilitation services expected to include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
• Configuration of large-scale Microsoft fabric platform and integration of data from both on-premises and cloud-based connections and systems used across the city.
• Configuration of appropriate role-based access controls for all team members, staff, and guests, cloud object configuration and usage, and orchestration of multiple data sources.
• Co-development of the fabric platform including integration and automation processes, workflows, and other coding requirements.
• Integrating all coding into the GIT repository in azure.
• Developing the medallion architecture with multiple data sources, including sap, in preparation for reporting with power bi.
• Assisting in the deployment and/or migration of a process, workflow, or solution into fabric.
• Professional and expert technical support for fabric operations, standards, and performance tuning, including new development, troubleshooting, defect resolution for data ingestion and automation, custom programs, interfaces, and reports.
• Other enhancements and/or configuration work to the cloud-based fabric environment, as required during the term of the agreement.
- This replacement, the data will be able to be extracted from the SAP Cloud environment through the SAP Business Technology Platform (“BTP”), and made accessible to be integrated into the Fabric environment. From there, required reports will be developed through Power BI and hosted in the Power BI Service.
- The Consultant shall provide Fabric Specialists who have expert knowledge and experience in the Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Azure environments, and related integrations, in order to deliver real-time instruction and walkthroughs of development activities to the Data Team in a holistic manner.
- The city requires that the fabric specialists provided by the consultant be available for project activities and able to engage directly with the city’s data team during the majority (i.e. at least six (6) hours) of the city’s regular business hours, defined as 8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST, Monday to Friday, excluding city recognized holidays.
- The fabric specialists will be expected to work remotely or on-site at city.
