Advanced Metering Infrastructure System

The Vendor is required to provide to deploy a modern advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system to enhance data collection, system monitoring, and customer service capabilities.
- Current meters in service are split between itron sentinel meters and elster a3/a4 meters, the bulk being itron sentinel, and would like to implement the new AMI system using as many retrofit kits as possible to make use of existing meters.
- The new system must integrate with the Tyler Munis billing platform and support CMEP file exports compatible with MV-90.
- The AMI solution will replace the current cell-based metering setup, which relies on an outside contractor using MV-90 to export TOU files, by implementing a radio-based communication network with full two-way functionality.
- This system must support integration with the utility’s existing Tyler Munis billing platform, while also providing the ability to export CMEP files in formats compatible with MV-90.
- The AMI platform must deliver event-based notifications (e.g., outages and restorations), reliable data hosting, and scalable long-term support to ensure ongoing system performance.
- While the utility will perform all meter and equipment installations, the selected vendor will be responsible for supplying the head-end system, communications infrastructure, and ongoing support services.
