Community Planning Permit System

The vendor is required to provide community planning permit system (CPPS) an active community immersed in outdoor recreation, arts and culture and the environment.
- The intended objectives being to:
•    Streamlining the development approvals process; 
•    Allowing for considerable flexibility in the application of development standards and land use permissions, providing more certainty to the public and interest parties on the future of land; 
•    Establishing a comprehensive planning framework that facilitates and shapes appropriate, ecologically sound and safe development; and 
•    Regulating vegetation removal and site alteration as part of the development approval process to properly consider environmental protection and tree preservation where appropriate.
- Streamlining and implementing efficiencies in its planning and development review process.
- CPPS and development review process to ensure that prior noted objectives are being met and that policies and procedures are in place to achieve council’s commitment to balanced growth, protecting the natural environment and development review efficiencies and streamlining.
- The CPPS permits municipalities to introduce a high degree of flexibility and streamlining into their planning approval processes.
