The Vendor is required to provide to acquire one micro X-ray Fluorescence (µXRF) spectrometer equipped with two energy-dispersive spectrometers to conduct analyses of natural rock and mineral samples.
- The µXRF must be capable of primarily analyzing unpolished/polished samples of drill core (~ 50 mm in diameter, 8 cm in length) and rock slabs (≤10 x 10 cm), and multiple (n ≥ 10) polished thin sections of rock samples (45 x 25 mm), all under atmospheric or relatively low vacuum conditions.
- The system should be capable of producing a sample resolution of between 0.01 and 0.1 mm.
- The system must have the following minimum requirements:
• The spectrometer must be offered as a fully functional system.
• The system must completely house electronics, generator, and detectors in one unit.
• The system must be operable via network / internet.
• The system must support network / internet based remote maintenance.
• The system must not require any compressed air or a He purge.
• Data produced must be completely extractable.
• Must include an automated X-Y-Z stage.
• System must operate under conditions of 100 – 240 V and 50/60 Hz.
• The system must have act approval as per state standards or receive act certification upon installation at the supplier’s expense.
• The supplier must provide an instrument alignment guarantee for the configuration that will be selected.
• The vendor must provide full installation and commissioning of the system on site.
• A minimum of two days of training by a qualified applications scientist must be supplied, after the installation is complete.
• A minimum of a three-year warranty on all parts, labor and travel for the entire system (commencing upon successful installation and acceptance of unit) must be included.
