The vendor required to provide automated liquid handling system, that will be used to transiently transfect mammalian cells in 24- and 96-well plate-based formats and subsequently incubate for protein expression.
- This system will be one of three components required for this suite:
• Automated liquid handling system
• A plate-based cell counter
• Biological safety cabinet
- A cell counter and incubator will be located on a standard laboratory bench beside the agency.
- This automated liquid handling system should be provided as a separate stand-alone piece.
- The automated liquid handling system required for transfect mammalian cells in a plate-based format.
- The system should be flexible with the plate format, either 24- or 96-well, microplate or deep-well plate.
- The equipment should be compatible with different transfection protocols and capable of handling volumes from 0.1 – 4 ml.
- This system should have a minimum of 8 independent 1-1000 µl pipetting channels and 4 independent 5 ml pipetting channels.
- The system should contain a multifunctional deck space that is the at least the size of 20 microplates.
- The deck should be flexible and configurable to accommodate multiple different set ups depending on plate, tip, tube and vial needs.
- There will be situations when the system will need to transfer to and from at least 12x50 ml conical tubes or at least 24x15 ml conical tubes.
- The deck space should be able modifiable to manage either at least 12x50 ml conical tubes or at least 24x15 ml conical tubes.
- the system should be able to move either microplates or deep-well plates to and from any location on the deck space.
- The system should be able to remove plate lids or hold them during pipetting events.
- The system should be able to hold at least 5 stacks of tip racks.
- The system should contain a waste module for liquid waste.
- The system should contain a tilt module which can tilt plate at least 10° to ease the removal of used media.
- The system should contain at least 6 reagent reservoirs at 60 ml.
- The system should have holder for up to thirty-two 1.5/2 ml microcentrifuge tubes.
- This system should have temperature-controlled plate shaker to ensure cells maintain correct temperatures and remain suspended during the transfection protocol.
- The system should come with all components necessary for calibration and quality assurance checks.
- The system should be programmable by the user to develop in-house protocols.
- The system should include hands-on user training (on-site) for all functionality of the system and related software.
