The Vendor is required to provide regarding the availability, capabilities, and implementation requirements of a next-generation fare collection system.
- Operates a fleet of 70 fixed-route buses plus a contingency fleet, primarily Gillig models (2006-2023).
- The current fare collection system includes:
• 66 gen fare odyssey fare boxes
• 13 gen fare fast fare fare boxes
• 2 gen fare vend star 3 ticket vending machine (TVMs)
• 2 vaults with fixed probes
• 79 masa bi validators and mobile ticketing system
- Objectives
• Modern fare boxes supporting the following minimum requirements; cash, coin, magnetic media, smart card, paper media, credit/\ and debit, NFC, RFID, open-loop and closed-loop payments, to include all other readily deployable fare payment media options.
• Replacement of aging TVMs with units supporting cash, coin, credit and debit, smart cards and issuing magnetic or paper media
• Replacement of vaulting and probing systems
• A unified, cloud-based back-office system consolidating all fare and ridership data
• Full integration with VONTAS, trapeze, and trans track CAD and AVL systems
• Compliance with ADA, WCAG 2.1 aa, and state accessibility law
• Compliance with buy (49 CFR 661) requirements
• Improved reporting for FTA and NTD requirements
• A system capable of supporting up to 200 vehicles.
