Multi-Modal Transportation Digital Information Software Services

The Vendor is required to provide a comprehensive, scalable, and user-friendly software solution that promotes awareness, access, and utilization of multi-modal transportation options across University-owned and affiliated facilities.
- The solution will support the University’s goals to:
•    Reduce single-occupancy vehicle trips
•    Decrease vehicle miles traveled (VMT)
•    Improve campus mobility and wayfinding
•    Support sustainability, climate, and equity initiatives
•    Reduce parking demand and congestion
- Objectives
•    Provide real-time, location-based transportation information in physical campus environments
•    Increase visibility and adoption of public transit, campus shuttles, shared mobility, and active transportation options
•    Improve the daily commuting experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors
•    Establish a scalable platform that can expand as transportation options evolve
•    Enable consistent messaging and branding across University facilities
•    Support long-term transportation demand management and sustainability strategies
- Real-Time Transportation Information
•    Local and regional public transit
•    University-operated shuttle services
•    Shared mobility services (bikeshare, carshare, rideshare)
•    Park-and-ride options
•    Active transportation (walking and biking routes)
- Physical Display Compatibility
•    The software must be hardware-agnostic and capable of operating on existing digital displays, monitors, or televisions.
•    The solution must be suitable for continuous display in building lobbies, student centers, academic buildings, residence halls, and other high-traffic campus locations.
•    No proprietary hardware dependency is preferred.
- User Interface and Accessibility
•    Displays must be intuitive, visually clear, and understandable without prior training.
•    The interface must be accessible to users of varying technical ability.
•    The solution should not require a personal mobile device to access core information.
- Customization, Branding, and Messaging
•    The University must be able to customize branding, logos, color schemes, and messaging.
•    The platform must support University-generated announcements, alerts, and wayfinding content.
•    Centralized content management capabilities are required.
- Data Integration and Management
•    The solution must integrate with multiple public and private transportation data sources.
•    Support for standard transportation data formats (e.g., GTFS, GTFS-RT) is required.
•    The contractor shall manage data ingestion, normalization, validation, and real-time updates.
•    The system must automatically incorporate new transportation services as they become available.

•    The platform must support phased deployment across multiple University locations.
•    The solution should be capable of expansion to off-campus or partner facilities if desired.
•    Licensing models should support future growth without excessive marginal cost.
- Support and Maintenance
•    The contractor must provide ongoing technical support and system monitoring.
•    Support staff should have demonstrated expertise in transportation data and mobility systems.
