The Vendor is required to provide an elevator communication design standard to identify a single, non-proprietary elevator safety communication solution in response to the code.
- A single, standardized elevator communication solution will also allow the city’s security operations center to answer emergency elevator calls directly, with faster response times, and in accordance with the city’s privacy policies.
- This solution will be adopted in all new and modernized elevators across the City building asset portfolio.
- Code requirements include:
• Two-way voice communication
• Means for authorized personnel to view video of car interior in case of entrapment
• Two-way message display in cab for hearing and/or speech impaired passengers
• A battery back-up system capable of providing up to 4 (four) hours of back-up support for the entire communication network
- Product allows cellular connection for use with the elevator communications system
- Software component of the communication system to be cloud based; and
- Multipurpose in-cab display screen capable of displaying custom digital signage, in addition to the required emergency text communications.
